Session Description
Artificial intelligence (AI) is proving to be transformative in achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where innovative approaches are most needed to bridge inequalities. Deep-tech innovators play a key role in the development and deployment of AI-driven innovations, particularly in ensuring that solutions are applicable to local contexts. Enabling access to regional large data sets, local large language models (LLMs), multimodal LLMs (MLLMs) and infrastructure support (e.g. edge computing, smart sensors) is crucial to support innovative, impactful solutions at the last mile .
This session, with deep-tech innovators and ecosystem enablers, will offer a view into the challenges and opportunities in developing an enabling AI ecosystem that fosters innovation. We will look to answer the question of how emerging tech can be utilised to complement legacy tech to deliver value-driven impact at the last mile.
