Daniele oversees the work of three teams within Mobile for Development. This includes two cross-cutting teams: the Central Insights Unit (CIU), which produces country- and region-specific insights on emerging opportunities in technology for development, and the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) function.
As of 2024, he also heads the newly formed Emerging Tech programme. The objective of this new programme is to leverage Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies to accelerate impact and drive climate action in low- and middle-income countries.
Daniele has previously managed the insights teams of the GSMA AgriTech and mHealth programmes, producing analysis and intelligence for sector practitioners. Prior to joining the GSMA, Daniele worked as an industry analyst and consultant for the telecoms and media sectors in low- and middle-income countries at Omdia and GlobalData. Daniele holds an MSc in new media and information systems from the London School of Economics and an MA in Media and Communication from the University of Bologna.
