GSMA Mobile for Development

Leaving no one behind

For almost two decades, the Mobile for Development team has been devoted to unlocking the potential of digital and mobile innovation to address the inequalities of our world.

By producing actionable research, advocating for change, de-risking innovation and providing technical assistance, and by creating impactful partnerships between innovators, mobile operators, governments and donors, we are contributing to building a world where no one is left behind.

Our collective work has already reached over 260 million lives – and counting.

At MWC25 Barcelona, Mobile for Development had a dedicated programme to convene valued partners and stakeholders, share insights, and discuss global topics, including agriculture, climate resilience, digital and financial inclusion, gender, humanitarian innovation, emerging technology, and startup innovation.

Sign Language Interpretation

This year, MWC Barcelona will once again be made more accessible for Deaf attendees through the provision of sign language interpretation (SLI) in our seminar sessions.

Connectivity for Good on the GSMA Pavilion, Hall 4, Stand 4F30

This year at the GSMA Pavilion, we took visitors on a journey through the emotional landscape behind the numbers. For MWC25 Barcelona, the Connectivity for Good team delivered an unforgettable interactive experience. Using film, soundbites, and storytelling, we highlighted the best of our research, insights, and data, showcasing the transformative impact of connectivity on people across the globe. Sustainability, climate, AI, emerging technologies, digital and financial inclusion, policy, regulation, and spectrum—attendees explored the key topics and initiatives that shaped our industry.

This work is supported by the Gates Foundation, The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the United Kingdom Government, The German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), USAID, Visa and supported by The GSMA and its members.
