Rubén Saavedra is the co-founder and CEO of Metrica Sports, a company he launched in 2014 to merge his academic expertise in data analysis with his passion for sports—particularly football.
A trained biotechnologist, Rubén holds a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience. After completing his doctoral studies, he decided to pivot from academia to entrepreneurship, founding Metrica Sports to develop accessible video and data analysis tools for coaches and analysts at every level of the game, from grassroots to elite.
Today, Metrica Sports supports more than 1,000 clients worldwide. Through its partnership with Barça Innovation Hub, the company aims to further democratize access to cutting-edge technology and software that was once reserved for only the top clubs in the world.
