11:10-11:25 - Operation of massive Smart Metering deployments on Cellular IoT networks - Francisco Javier Zorzano Miler, Head of IoT Technology and Integration, Telefónica Tech
Cellular IoT is the right technology to manage large number of assets, such as massive metering deployments in large scale utilities, with the associated enormous impact on society and the environment. But the challenges of metering projects just begin with the network and meter deployment.
The full Service Assurance process has to be executed in these large network sensors, from device and network monitoring to troubleshooting and network optimization. These activities have to be adjusted to the peculiarities of these technologies and scales. For example network monitoring becomes a Big Data activity, while issue debugging has to analyse the interactions of the different technical layers, from end device capacitors to database storage. Without these activities, projects are doomed and customers will move to other, less optimal, technologies.
In this presentation we will describe our framework for smart metering operation, illustrated with experiences from massive Telefónica Tech projects.
11:25-11:30 - 5G IoT Summit Closing Remarks
