We’re excited to hear your thoughts! Please take a moment to fill out the survey about your readiness for post-quantum cryptography implementation to spark an engaging seminar discussion.
Complete a survey (approx. 1 minute)
The 6th Post Quantum Network Seminar at MWC Barcelona aims to delve into the rapidly evolving field of Post-quantum cryptography algorithms and their implications for telco technologies. As quantum computers edge closer to becoming a practical reality, the need for robust cryptographic solutions capable of withstanding quantum attacks becomes ever more critical.
This seminar will feature leading experts who will discuss the latest advancements in post-quantum algorithms, their implementation challenges and the transition strategies for existing systems.
Attendees will gain insights into the current state of post-quantum research, the potential impact on various sectors e.g. IoT market and the steps necessary to secure information in the quantum era.
Don’t miss this enlightening and interactive session, that promises to shine a light on the path towards a quantum secure digital future.

Session 5: Post-Quantum Cryptography Impact on Financial Sector (20 mins)
Mark Carney - Head of Quantum for Cybersecurity Research, Santander Global
Financial Services are in a unique situation compared to other areas of CNI; on the one hand, we have to maintain all of our b2b and retail services that have been established often over a period of decades, but simultaneously keep our practices up to date for both regulatory and competitive reasons. In this talk, we'll provide an overview for how financial services can be steered towards cryptographic agility, give an overview of the open source tools we have developed to help businesses of all kinds inventory their cryptography, and share our vision for the future of cryptography in finance.
Session 6: Q&A (5 mins)
Luke Ibbetson - Group Research and Development Director, Vodafone Group and Deputy Chairman of Post Quantum Telco Network Task Force
Session 7: Post-Quantum Cryptography Impact on Automotive Connectivity (15 mins)
Maxime Flament - Chief Technology Officer, 5G Automotive Association (5GAA)
Synopsis: The rise of quantum computers significantly impacts the security and integrity of cryptography. 5GAA has set its goal to support the Automotive OEMs in addressing the security threats of quantum technology. Based on the work done by GSMA to address the needs of the telcos, 5GAA aims to cooperate with GSMA utilise the work already started among the MNOs and focus specifically on the risks for the Auto OEMs. 5GGA CTO Maxime Flament will highlight the content of its recent 5GAA position paper detailing the security concerns related to post-quantum cryptography and its impact on Automotive OEM interests, contextualising the work already done by the MNOs in GSMA.
Session 8: Closing Remarks
- Key Takeaway: Future Directions in Post-Quantum Cryptography (10 mins)
Lory Thorpe - Senior Strategy Advisor, IBM and Chairman of Post Quantum Telco Network Task Force
