More about Joby and SKT’s partnership:
-
Joby and SKT have partnered to introduce emissions-free air taxi services to cities and communities across South Korea, in support of the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport’s “K-UAM” (Korean Urban Air Mobility) Roadmap. Along with a strategic investment of USD 100 million in Joby Aviation that was announced in June 2023, the partnership secures the exclusive use of Joby’s aircraft for the Grand Challenge - a critical step for the consortium that ensures SKT is well placed to become a market-leader in this important new sector.
More about Joby:
Joby Aviation is developing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for commercial passenger service, enabling new ways of moving people around congested cities. The aircraft is an electric air-taxi that takes off vertically into the air and transitions to forward flight on the wing like a traditional fixed-wing aircraft. It fits four passengers and a pilot, flies up to 200mph (321 kph) and is up to 100x quieter than a helicopter.
