Fawzia Ali is a Transformational Commercial Leader in FMCG and Telecommunications sectors, currently serving as the Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom PLC, a leading technology company in Africa.
With a deep understanding of the ever-evolving consumer landscape, Fawzia plays a pivotal role in shaping Safaricom's customer-centric strategy and driving the company's growth in the highly competitive technology sector. She leads a diverse and talented team focused on creating great experiences and value for Safaricom's customers.
Fawzia holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is also an alumni of Strathmore Business School and Gibs Business School in South Africa. and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. She has also attended multiple leadership programs and is a Certified Coach.
She currently sits on the board of the AfroBarometer, an Africa based organization focused on delivering high quality research on the state of Africans. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Fawzia is committed to community development and is involved in various philanthropic initiatives, having served as a trustee of the Safaricom Foundation from 2015 to 2022, a member of the Rotary Club Lavington Jioni, and as a Director at Moving the Goalposts, a non-profit that seeks to empower adolescent girls and young women in the rural coastal region of Kenya through sports.
She is a passionate advocate for digital transformation and believes in the power of technology to transform lives especially women. She also mentors aspiring leaders, particularly women in technology, inspiring them to break barriers and excel in their careers.
