Speaker Bio
Drew leads GSMA Advance, the skills and accreditation division of the GSMA. GSMA Advance distils decades of GSMA’s deep experience, influence and insight into topics that critically affect the growth and resilience of the mobile sector, and curates this into learning content for professionals in the industry.
Drew comes from the higher education sector, having lectured in linguistics at the University of York, before going on to work in education consulting in Shanghai and Hong Kong. Prior to joining the GSMA, he was the Head of Rankings for QS’s World University Rankings, responsible for collating and analysing data on thousands of universities across the globe, and consulting on their performance. He has presented globally on how universities can and should be positioning themselves in the 21st century, and whether the dominant western education model (read, retain, repeat) is fit for purpose.
He holds an MA in Business, a master’s degree in Linguistics and a PhD in Psychology.
