Wassim Chourbaji serves as Qualcomm's President for Middle East and Africa (MEA) and Senior Vice President for Government Affairs for Europe the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
As president MEA, he is responsible for Qualcomm's business and partnership strategy across the region, steering business development and operational activities in the areas of advanced connectivity, computing, AI an industrial IoT. As SVP Government Affairs EMEA, Mr Chourbaji oversees the company’s public policy, regulatory strategy, and government relations across the region, leading a senior team responsible for technology, intellectual property, digital ecosystems, spectrum, data, security, and competition policies, with an emphasis on connectivity, AI, industrial, and automotive.
Mr Chourbaji joined Qualcomm’s Government Affairs team as senior manager in 2006. Before joining Qualcomm, he was head of spectrum for France Telecom Group. In this role Mr Chourbaji also acted as one lead negotiator for Europe at the International Telecommunications Union. He previously held positions at Skybridge, an Alcatel Company, and Bouygues Telecom. Mr Chourbaji studied mathematics and engineering at son CentraleSupélec in Paris. He's a former Chairman of the TechUK Communication Infrastructure Council and Policy Council and currently sits on the UK's Ofcom Spectrum Advisory Board.
