Speaker Bio
Massimiliano Simoni, Master in Telecommunication Engineering and Bachelor in Business Administration, has been dealing with the spectrum engineering and frequency management of the fixed and satellite applications for Telecom Italia (now TIM) since the beginning of his career.
He has also been in charge of the radio relay software tool, used for radio links filing, planning and coordination. After the Telecom Italia fixed and mobile branches merging, he has started to look after the mobile frequency management as well.
He has been responsible for the development of the industrial cost analysis predictive model for the Mobile Network in TIM.
He has been representing TIM in many national and international meetings, coordinating activities for the preparatory work towards WRCs and for bilateral coordination meetings.
He has been Chairman of the Spectrum Working Group of the ETNO (European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association, now Connect Europe), Chairman of the Frequencies Operator Expert Group of the GSMA Europe, and is now Chairman of the SSMG, the group of the GSMA that defines the global spectrum strategies of the mobile network operators.
