Claudia Nemat has been a member of Deutsche Telekom AG‘s Board of Management since 2011. Until end of 2016, she was CEO of the European business division. Since January 2017 she has led the Board area „Technology and Innovation“ as group CTIO. In that capacity, she has been responsible for the network, digital and IT transformations, product innovation and delivery, supply chain resilience, security operations and cyber defense, as well as artificial intelligence.
In addition to her Executive roles, Claudia has gained multi-year experience as Board Director at Airbus SE and previously at Lanxess AG.
Before joining Deutsche Telekom, Claudia Nemat was Senior Partner at McKinsey&Company, working for the company for more than 17 years. She co-led McKinsey‘s global Technology Sector and had a number of interim management roles, ensuring disaster recovery of large IT projects, and acting as interim CEO.
Claudia Nemat studied physics at the University of Cologne and taught at the Institute of Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.
2021 she was awarded the Honorary Guest Professorship of the KIT (Karlsruhe Institute for Technology). She is member of the University Council of the University of Cologne, as well as the presidium of the German Council of Foreign Relations.
Claudia is a passionate advocate for humancentered technology, being convinced that humans need to be at the center of technological progress as well as economic and political actions.
