Kostya Novoselov received his PhD from the University of Nijmegen, the Netherlands, before joining Andre Geim at the University of Manchester, UK for his post-doctoral training. In 2010, he and Andre Geim jointly received the Nobel Prize for Physics “for groundbreaking experiments regarding the two-dimensional material graphene”. In 2019, he joined the National University of Singapore as Distinguished Professor and in 2021 was appointed Director of the newly established Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials in Singapore. His research spans across condensed matter physics; mesoscopic transport; superconductivity and ferromagnetism; nanostructures and nanofabrication; graphene and other two-dimensional crystals.
