Speaker Bio
Dr. Won-Yeol Lee is the Vice President and Head of the Future Network Technology Department at KT. Since joining KT in 2009, he has been responsible for mobile network R&D, particularly contributing to the innovation and commercialization of KT's 4G and 5G networks Dr. Lee also served as the principal investigator for the 5G AutoDrv project, a large-scale pilot project for 5G autonomous driving funded by the Korean Government. Currently, he is leading 6G R&D projects, focusing on radio access technologies, network architecture, and standardization. His research interests include 6G, NTN, open RAN, and quantum networks.
Before joining KT, Dr. Lee worked for LG Telecom (now LG U+) from 1999 to 2004. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electronics Engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA.
