Speaker Bio
Ms. Minna Kivimäki was appointed as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in June 2021. She has a strong interest, and extensive working history, in transport and communication matters, both at a national and international level. Ms. Kivimäki has served in the Ministry of Transport and Communications since 1997, including several years as a director-general of two departments.
Ms. Kivimäki has solid understanding of the European Union. Before her role as Permanent Secretary, she served from 2016 to 2021 as Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Representation of Finland to the European Union in Brussels. Her earlier assignments at the Permanent Representation include posts as a Transport Counsellor, and she has also served in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Ms. Kivimäki has a Master of Law degree from the University of Helsinki.
