Speaker Bio
Jordi is an expert in digital health, currently leading the Digital Health Strategy for Catalonia at the Catalan Health Service. His academic background is both extensive and diverse, with a PhD in medical informatics and an MBA, alongside degrees in computing science engineering, business management, telemedicine, and e-health. Jordi's professional career began in 2000 in service provision, where he worked as an analyst and software developer in the Information Technologies Department. During this time, he played a key role in the deployment and implementation of Electronic Medical Records and contributed to numerous research and innovation projects. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for his current leadership role in shaping digital health strategies.
His research interests encompass integrated care delivery models, semantic interoperability, and the design, implementation, and evaluation of digital health solutions. He is also the Principal Investigator of the DS3 Research Group where he actively participates in many international R&D efforts towards the digitalization of the healthcare system.
A Fellow of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (FHIMSS), Jordi continues to bridge the gap between academic research and practical application in the rapidly evolving field of digital health. His work consistently emphasizes the importance of integrating technological advancements with healthcare delivery, aiming to improve patient outcomes and system efficiency through innovative digital solutions.
