Session Description
As countries strive to build an inclusive digital society, eliminating barriers to mobile internet usage is paramount. For 3.4 billion unconnected people, mobile service is available where they live. To bring these people online, a range of challenges must be addressed, including making devices more affordable, building up relevant content and services, and ensuring people have the skills to use them. As digital innovations progress, the economic costs increase for less-connected communities. GSMA analysis estimates that closing the usage gap will add $3.5 trillion in total additional GDP during 2023-2030. While examining the current state of digital inclusion, industry leaders will chart strategies to address the risks of an expanding digital divide.
