What is the environmental programme?
Our environmental programme focuses on five areas:
- Energy
- Production and waste
- Food and waste food
- Logistics
- Travel and accommodation
These areas have been designed to align with six of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) - Affordable and clean energy, Climate action, Responsible consumption and production, Zero hunger, Reduced inequalities and Industry, innovation and infrastructure.
How are we doing it?
-
We work closely with Barcelona City Council, L’Hospitalet City Council, Fira Barcelona, and local partners to minimise the climate impact of our show.
-
We encourage attendees to be greener, with easy ways to mitigate their impact on the environment when attending MWC Barcelona.
-
We foster the adoption of sustainable practices supporting our Exhibitors and Partners to create a successful and sustainable event experience.
Our events incorporate sustainable materials, we adopt a circular economy approach with zero waste.
We procure food sustainably and minimise waste.
We streamline the transportation of goods and equipment while transitioning to logistics with zero emissions.
We collaborate with partners to minimise and address emissions.
