Speaker Bio

Gisela García Álvarez is a biochemist with over 15 years of experience in health systems research across Europe and Asia, complemented by numerous peer-reviewed publications. Her journey in innovation began in 2010 when she co-founded Singapore’s first health and life sciences cluster, a pioneering initiative she balanced with her research and teaching roles.

In mid-2016, life brought Gisela to Galicia, Spain, where she became Managing Director of the Galician Health Cluster (CSG). During her nearly eight-year tenure, she spearheaded an internationalization strategy for companies in the care sector, created high-value services, and attracted public funds and investments to benefit the regional health ecosystem. She also established ITGALL, Galicia’s first living lab network for testing technological and digital solutions in the social care sector. In addition, she coordinated the ECHAlliance Galician Ecosystem, connecting stakeholders to global health innovation networks.

Recently appointed as ECHAlliance Ambassador for Singapore, Gisela now focuses on scaling health and care innovation projects through her Singapore-based consultancy, LEX GLOBALMINDS. Together with her team, she provides strategic support to organizations navigating cross-border collaborations.

Her flagship project, the Global Innovation Super-Highways Initiative, aims to build a seamless platform for collaboration across sectors such as digital health, biotechnology, and environmental sustainability. The initiative offers co-funded opportunities, simplifies regulatory compliance, and supports market expansion, starting with Singapore, the EU, and the UK as its initial targets.

Gisela remains driven by a global vision for impactful innovation, bridging regions and sectors to create meaningful solutions.
