Speaker Bio
Ricardo Baptista is the CEO of HealthAI, a non-profit foundation advocating for responsible AI use in health. He is also the Founder and President of the UNITE Parliamentarians Network for Global Health, a global network in partnership with the WHO. Baptista chairs the Harvard-Charité Global Health Policy Lab and the Centre for Global Health at NOVA IMS. He is a guest lecturer at NOVA Medical School and was the former Head of Public Health at Católica University of Portugal.
A former 4-term Member of Parliament, he has also served as Vice President of the Social Democrats Parliamentary Board and the Parliamentary Network on The World Bank & IMF. Baptista, a medical doctor specializing in Infectious Diseases, has a decade of clinical practice and health tech advisory experience. He is the founder of CREATING HEALTH and co-founder of the Estoril Conferences.
In addition, Baptista is the author of the book “A Road to the Cure – Proposals to Fix the Portuguese Health System” and “Citizenship for Health”, among other publications.
